Zarautz Txakoli Primo Rosado

Like their white wine, Zarautz’s Rosado is a young, fruity wine with lower alcohol, balancing crispness and sparkle.

It gets its natural light fizz through a change of temperature directly after fermentation. The wine is kept at 0ºC in order to preserve that carbonic touch that makes it so fresh.

It is perfect light drinking and, for the Basque people, often accompanies seafood pinchos.

Zarautz Rosado is a blend of 50% Xarel-lo, 30% Viura, 18% Tempranillo and 2% Chardonnay with minimum residual sugar.

About the Producer

Txakoli Primo

In 1953, Andrés Echave Olascoaga bought a vineyard of one hectare located in the area called Unsain-Burua of Zarautz and founded Txakoli Primo.

In order to create a brand for his txakoli, Andrés Echave made use of his fathers name, José Primo Echave, popularly known as Primo.

Winemaking started in the cellar located in the Salbide district of Zarautz. As demand steadily increased the facilities had to be expanded and transferred to Abendaño Kalea, also in Zarautz, in 1995.
