Marionette Monastrell/Syrah
A slightly lighter Monastrell/Syrah blend from the ‘Goru’ winemakers.
Marionette is made from a delicate blend of selected Monastrell and Syrah grapes, chosen among the best plots, to express a bright and vivacious wine.
The harvest was both manual and mechanical with fermentation and maceration, depending on the variety, was made in contact with the skins in stainless tanks for 15-25 days. Throughout the entire process the temperatures were kept below 24-26ºC. The wine was then aged in American oak barrels for 2 – 3 months.

About the Producer
Bodegas Ego
Ego Bodegas has 25ha of vineyards including varieties such as Tempranillo and Syrah, but the main focus is on the local native variety Monastrell – many of these vines are about 50 years old. They are situated in a special location within the region of Jumilla, one of the driest wine areas of Spain. The climate means the grapes grow as small bunches with a good concentration of sugar, excellent acidity and thicker skins.
While the surroundings are rural and rustic, the winery and its technology are both modern and meticulously managed.
