Bella Luna Fiano

An Italian inspired white from Australia

The Fiano grapes are grown in McPherson’s vineyards in the north of Victoria. This region has long, baking, sunny days and mild evening temperatures – perfect for the growing the varietal. The grapes were harvested during the cool of the night to maintain fruit freshness.

The wine was barrel fermented in various parcels, with extended lees contact to build structure yet retain good fruit balance

Winemakers are Olivia Forbes and Jo Nash.

Pale straw colour with light, lifted aromas. Packed with tangy citrus and stone fruits. A rich texture of subtle ripe fruit with an abundance of complexity – highlights of honey, spice and pine resin. The dry finish of low acidity wherein the richness tapers.

About the Producer

McPherson Wines

McPherson Wines had its beginnings in 1968 when Andrew McPherson, with his father Jock, first started winemaking, swiftly earning a reputation as true innovators in the country’s blossoming wine industry.

In 1974, Andrew began winemaking in his own right, and has spent his working life to date in the wine industry. He lives in the beautiful hills of the Strathbogie Ranges overlooking the vines that grow their most famous wine, the Basilisk Shiraz Mourvedre.

1993 saw the establishment of McPhersons first vineyard holdings in the Murray Darling region near Mildura. The Murray Darling is so named for the two great rivers that run through the region the Murray River and the Darling River. One of the most significant grape growing areas in Australia, the region is over 350km wide (east to west) and is renowned for its production of soft, generously flavoured wines – giving consistency, reliability and value for money.

The winery is situated just outside the town of Nagambie in Central Victoria. Winemaker Jo Nash worked under Andrew McPherson’s tutelage, and in 2011 she was appointed chief winemaker. She is joined by Olivia Forbes who has been at McPhersons for over 8 years and Bredon Freeman who has 20 plus years experience in Victora wineries.
