In 1130 the Norbertine monks started brewing beer at the Abbey of Tongerlo After centuries of brewing, in 1990, the Norbertines and Brouwerij Haacht formed a long-term relationship to brew Tongerlo beers under the approving eye of the monastic community ever since. The most important ingredients of this are the shared values: respect, authenticity and dedication.

Haacht brewery was founded in 1898. With over 125 years of brewing experience Haacht remain a true family-run brewery, now led by the fourth generation, and have choosen to stay proudly independent.
They made their reputation by brewing Belgium’s first Pilsner lager (before Stella Artois), now sold as Primus.
Copper coloured with a creamy, white head. The initial taste is soft with a pronounced sweetness. It has a full flavour with a mildly dry aftertaste.
