Haacht brewery was founded in 1898. With over 125 years of brewing experience Haacht remain a true family-run brewery, now led by the fourth generation, and have chosen to stay proudly independent.
They made their reputation by brewing Belgium’s first Pilsner lager (before Stella Artois), now sold as Primus.
Tawny red colour with a slightly off white medium head. Highly aromatic, initially up-front black cherry then subtle cranberry. Dried fruit flavours give the impression of an aged beer. A sweet/sour taste that tips towards the latter, with a nice level of tartness on the finish.
