Super8 Flandrien – 33cl bottle

Classic Belguim Blonde style, full of character from the use of vanilla, oak, coriander with Saaz and Belgium hops.

SUPER 8 is the branding for Haacht’s highly rated and award-winning modern ‘craft’ range – their idiosyncratic take on traditional Belgium beer styles.

This range of beers is intended to blow an unexpected wind through the rich Belgian beer landscape. Each offers the best and most popular characteristics of the beer style, infused with a firm dash of fun.

Haacht brewery was founded in 1898. With over 125 years of brewing experience Haacht remain a true family-run brewery, now led by the fourth generation, and have chosen to stay proudly independent.

They made their reputation by brewing Belgium’s first Pilsner lager (before Stella Artois), now sold as Primus.

Tasting Notes:

Deep gold colour with a small fluffy head and good carbonation. A complex nose of citrus, herbs and spice; as with the palate the initial impression is fruit rather than hop or malt. An initial savoury tartness with slightly astringent vanilla mellows into a smooth bitterness with now sweeter vanilla in the aftertaste.
